New socks and shoes

Seeing as how you could all but see the air in my tires I picked up a set of Cragar Black Steel wheels and a set of 305/65/17 BFG ATs. This couldn't wait till the middle of September for my Chrome AR's to arrive - Nor will I destroy an $800 set of chrome rims in a New Jersey winter.

I previously had an ok set of AR Pythons 17" rims with 32" BFGs. One rim got messed up in an accident 2 years ago in my '97 f150. Lost a second one in an incident with a faulty caliper bolt earlier this spring. Back in May I placed an order for a set of AR Artillery rims in chrome. They'll be here at the end of the month - just in time for NJ road salt - not pretty.

I've ranted enough - pics:

Tires arrived the day after I ordered them from Tire Rack - I originally had a problem with my order - I was $50 over my daily limit. Fixed that by 7pm Wednesday last week - they were in my driveway Thursday morning before 11 - Talk about fast shipping.

Pics from that night hoping that they would fit.

Sitting in Pepboys garage for M&B - the tech struggled a bit lifting them onto the truck. I thanked & tipped him for his work.

All set - Sitting in the church parking lot Sunday after worship

On the back road behind the church next to my buddy's '94 Explorer Sport - The county resivior is behind me

Only rubbing problems I had were on the stupid factory mud flaps - they disappeared from my truck Friday night. I also had to trim the lower front valance just a bit - shave the corner off. All in all I'm happy. In March I'll get my AR Artillerys on.

They're a pair of 8 foot stainless steel CB whips. Gets peoples attention I'll tell you that.

My father had one on his 1970 Charger when he was a kid. I ran one on my 99 Explorer and my brother has one on his 01 Explorer now. Nothing like driving around and hearing "TWANG!!!" on every tree branch and low bridge.

No they both work - The cabling goes to a "T" connector then feeds my 30+ year old CB radio.
