Hey guys I know nothing about trucks to be honest. I can change my own oil and spare tires and thats about it. I want some new wheels and tires for my truck though and i was wondering if i could fit 20x9 XD Hoss Wheels and 35x12.5 r20 Toyo Open Country MT's on my 2010 Lariat with 3 inch strut spacers on the front by springtech and 2 inch rear shackles..any help would be appreciated..thanks

 

No. If it's a 4x4, you can fit 33x12.50's (305/55-20) using those wheels. As a general rule with the 4x4's and a leveling kit, you can fit 35x12.50's using the stock wheels or 33's with wider aftermarket wheels.

 

Wandell is the wheel/tire combo God....and he is correct. I have 33x12.5x20 Toyo MTs with 20x9 XD Monsters....no trimming but JUST enough clearance they don't rub at all.

 

i have the 20x8.5 oem wheels on my FX4. do you happen to know what the backspacing/offset is? Also, could I run a 20x9 aftermarket rim with similar backspacing/offset on 35s and 2.5" level?

 

The OEM 20's have 6.5 inches of backspacing. The problem with fitting 35x12.50's with the OEM 20 inch wheels is that the 6.5 inches of BS pulls the tires in so far that some 12.50 width tires will actually touch/rub the upper ball joint/a-arm. This usually occurs with tires with aggressive sidewall lugs. A lot of members have found a 35x11.50 (285/65-20) tire to be a perfect fit.

What is the biggest 18" tire I can fit on my stock 18X7.5 KR wheels w/o causing a problem? I don't do a lot of offroad driving but want to gain some height and width.

It's an '07 KR SCrew 4x4 with no lift and the trailer towing package.

With 33's? For sure. With 35's? It would be really tight and I'm sure there would be some rubbing.
07newscrew, you can fit 35x12.50's with a leveling kit, but they will rub the control arms slightly at full steering lock. You could fit anything smaller easily (like the 305/65-18 BFG AT KO).

 

Will the 305/65-18 work OK on my stock 7.5" wide rims or do I need to go wider?

BFG recommends an 8-10 inch wide wheel I belive. However, hundreds of members here have run 305mm and 315mm wide tires on the OEM 7.5 inch wheels with no problems. Just don't run the air pressure too high for daily driving as this and the narrower wheel could make the center of the tire's thread wear faster than normal.
