How long can I go on the spare tire??

I have the oem 20's and just got a flat. I want to get the nitto terra grapplers (same size as stock-unless i can go bigger on the oem wheels w/out issues??). However, its going to take 3-5 days for direct to ship them. I will only be driving about 30 more miles this week to work (plus i have a flight on friday which is about 60 miles to it and come back next week). I've already put 35 on the spare already--had to get to work).

Should i just pay out the a** at a local shop for tires I don't really want, or do you think the spare will last 150 miles (all highway). Flat is on the pass. rear side. Thanks!!!

**Its an 18 inch spare, but the sizes seem to match the rest of the wheels.

If the spare is the same diameter at the others (width makes no difference) then -------f o r e v e r.
If you have a 2 WD with a limited slip diff then put it on the front.
If you have an open diff then you should be ok I would think.

yeah, it's a 4x4 Lariat.

Interestingly enought: The spare is a Wrangler AT/S 275/65/18. Doesn't say anything about being a spare with the whole 50/50 rule (50 miles, 50mph) Did that come stock? I bought the truck when it had 17k on it. First time I've used it.

I think the 50/50 is if you have the donut.

Roll that baby up next to one of your good ones and if it is the same height you are good to go. If it isn't then put it on the front if you have the LSD and don't use 4WD.

You should be ok till the new shoes come in.

should be the exact same tire that is on your truck. you can go forever, or whenever the thread runs out of the other tires.

The diameter of your spare is .16 inches larger than the 20s when new, plus each 1/32 of wear is .0625 inches off of the diameter of the 20s.

Size difference is more of a concern if your 20s are worn and the spare is still new, and you would not want to run 4H on a surface with good traction.

Spare is new and the 20's are worn, not terrible as i just got inspected and didn't have any issues. But thats why I'm getting all new tires. I won't be in 4hi or 4lo. Should I move it to the front just to be safe? Thanks

So is it ok to run it with limited slip on the rear? I won't be using 4hi or 4lo. Just highway. Will I burn up the LSD?
