military tires?

anyone run military tires on their f150? howd it ride? the tires i have now are just about done, rock hard and have very poor street manners when braking. i can feel every *** on the tire

was thinking about getting some hummer tires since they are a dime a dozen but dont know if anyone makes a 16.5" wheel for our trucks (07 f150 in my case). if so, does anyone have a link?

I have never seen a wheel smaller than 17" to fit our trucks. And those hummer tires may not ride the best either, you may feel the road and tires just as bad. BTW, what size are you talking about, the 36s or 37s? What size lift do you have to fit these?

ive never seen a 36" hummer tire until i clicked that link. 17" is the smallest ive seen on these trucks as well so thought id ask. i guess the next question is, whats the best bang for the buck 37" tire? i know there is no such thing as a cheap 37 but whats the best deal out there. i do more towing then off roading these days so i want a tire thats made for the street, im dont with mud tires. i havent been off road in a while and the off roading i did do could have been easily handled by a street tire.

oh and i have a 9" lift, currently running a 37x12.5x20

well I've just started lookin into them myself, price wise they're attractive (until freight comes into play)

I hear they ride like crap, people online say they don't ride well, my dad bought some 36-12.50-16.5 tires (goodyear military OZ) and they shook his 2000 f250 off the road at 25mph.

Jake, I ordered 16.5 wheels on 5x4.5 wheel pattern for like $60 pc. I'm sure if you dont mind steel wheels it can be done.

Depending on how wide of a wheel you mount them on most guys say they're closer to 35-35.5"s tall.

I'm fine with that part just the ride and speed rating is my concern.

well if they ride like sh*t i can just stay with my dying khumos for free. i just assumed being they are military use, the government with almost limitless money would run decent tires on their vehicles.

what does 37x12.5x20 come out in metric? most of the sites ive looked at all have metric numbers.

jake do you have a link or company name to one of the places that make 16.5" for 5 on 135 (whats the 5 for again? been a long time since ive dont anything to my truck, always in the mustang world)
