Speed Sensor Help

I had a problem with ABS light on and the brakes pulsating when I tried to stop. I had a diagnostic run and it came back the RF speed sensor in the brake assembly was bad. I was quoted a price of $195 for the part and $115 labor since the drum has to be pulled from the Ford Dealership. Another garage quoted flat $380 price. I have done pads before but never pulled a sensor. Is this somthing best left up to the dealership to do, or can any trained mechanic do it? Also can continued driving the vehicle cause more problems. The ford dealer says they have to order the part and the next slot open is like 4 days away. Thanks for any thoughts

Well, they're already hosing you on the price of the part. Check out RockAuto.com for genuine Motorcraft parts at about half that price, then maybe try it yourself or take it to a local mechanic and pay for labor only. I've never done it before, so I don't know about difficulty.
