Leveling and Backspacing for dummies...

I have an 05 silver crew, blacked out windows with stock wheels and no leveling kit... Truck looks good !

As of now I plan on spending right around $1000, what are some options that would make this truck look good ? are there any combo's of wheels and tires that look good for this price ? or do I just get really good tires ?

and explain leveling and backspacing in relation to me buying new tires and wheels.

I'm looking for a stocky aggressive look on the truck.

Thanks guys !!

Right now I am learning all the new gab and idea's of what to do to my truck. Your best bet would be to use the search function and look up "leveling kit, Lift, A/T" ect. I have learned a lot in the past few weeks and find that you pick and choose what others have done learning from their mistakes along the way!

As for the $1000 it might be tight for rims and tires but you could find someone who is selling used. There have been a few since I have joined. A good place to start is a "1.5-2.5" levelling kit such as Auto Spring. These can be picked up for about $90 and installed if you have access to a garage.

You could spend the rest on a 33" A/T or M/T tire on your stock rims.

Hope it helps.

Good Luck

J

If it's a 4x4, I'd suggest a 2 or 2.5 inch Autospring leveling kit and a set of 18x9 inch wheels with 5 to 6 inches of backspacing and some 305/60-18 (33x12.50) or 325/60-18 (33x13.00) tires.
