Road Hazard or Not?

I'm sitting here waiting for the tires to be put on my truck.I have decided not to get the road hazard coverage...from my research it is not worth it.Anyone have thoughts on this?

$100.I have never bought into it.According to the stats only 2 percent of the insurance is ever paid out.Sounds like not too many people actually use it.

That seems a bit high....like I said I have never had to use it. the last time I bought it it was through a local tire shop and it was $32 and included, replacement, rotations, balance, etc...

With all my driving in my 51 years on the road, have never bought a road hazard and have never needed it. I have never bought an extended warranty and can't recall anything ever going out within the extended period.

I got it on my new set of tires. I never got it on my last set of 35s but I did have a nail in one. Is that $100 per tire?

I hope you mean $25 a tire! I have bought it on every vehicle, even new ones, from Discount Tire... except once. Two weeks after we bought the Jeep, we hit a hitch in the road and blew out two tires, luck of the draw! I've purchased insurance on seven sets of tires and never had an issue with any of those tires. In fact, I bought insurance a few months back on BFG tires, sizes 265/70/R18's for $20 a tire on the wife's truck and 275/60/R17's for $17.50 a tire on my truck. Then I traded my truck in last month!

always get it but at the local shop i use it includes lifetime rotation, balance, and road hazard. i've had at least 3 replaced in last 6 years so at $48 for replacing a $140 tire i'm still ahead. if i get a nail it's replaced not patched!

they will usually drop the rhw price if you think about it for a minute or even ask them to lower it I usually get it for around 10 bucks a tire.

We sell it, but only a small percentage of my customers take it. For tires like ours its no big deal. For 30-35 series car tires it's a whole 'nother story.....
