Hey guys, was driving my 97 E250 work van home before and the ABS light started blinking. it blinks 15 times consecutively then steady for a few seconds on the 16th, then cycles again..Any ideas?

 

Hopefully, it's a failed ABS sensor. That's what my F150 did when one of the sensors failed.

 

Update..... get in truck this morning, start it up, push brake, and will absolutely not shift into gear...Anybody ever have this happen?

 

Never checked this on an F-150, but had it happen on other vehicles.

Likely a faulty brake switch. Look above the brake pedal and you'll see a small switch that is pushed in when the brake is NOT being pressed---when you press the break the switch releases, and this is what activates your brake lights and allows it to shift out of park. Should be an easy fix---hopefully.

 

Also, could simply be a blown fuse. Check that as well.

 

Have the same think happening to my 95. ABS just started blinking and now my brake lights and hazard do not work. The bulbs are fine. Anyone run into this?
