22" Foose Nitrous 6
22" Foose Nitrous 6
OK, I've been searching previous threads for hours and still have not found a definitive answer, so I am going to ask if anyone on here is running the setup I would like to run.
To begin, I own a 2006 FX4 with a 2.5" leveling kit.
In the summer, I run 22" Foose Nitrous 6 wheels. They are 9.5" wide, have a 6.5" backspace and a +35mm offset. Based on that information, the difference between the factory 20's and the 22's is an increase of 4mm on the inside of the rim and an increase of 22mm on the outside. Thus accounting for the 1" width difference between the two rims.
I want to put on a set of Nitto Trail Grapplers 325/50/22. I know 35x12.5/20's fit on the factory wheels without any major rubbing issues. I know about the rubbing at full lock.
For those of you guys who are running 35x12.5/20, how much room do you have between the tire and the A-arm? The difference in width between the 35x12.5/20 and 325/50.22 is approximately 7mm. Add the 4mm for the extra rim width and that is 11mm or 7/16". I would like to know how much room there is between the tire and A-arm before I order these things. The 325/50/22 would be 29mm or approx 1 1/8" wider on the outside taking into account the extra rim width.
If anyone is running these wheels with a similar tire size, or if anyone with 35x12.5/20 on the factory rims can measure to see how much clearance there is between the tire and A-arm, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

How do you figure 7mm difference in width? 325/50/22 are 12.95" wide according to the Nitto website which is about 12mm wider than a true 12.50" tire.
I think you might be looking at this wrong. You need to compare where the centerline of the rims are rather than how much further the edge sticks out since your wheels are a different width than factory. It sounds like your CL is 9mm outside the factory CL assuming the 22mm and 4mm were correct. So your tire will be centered 9mm further out than factory with a tire that sticks in 6mm further (than the 35x12.50 from the CL) leaving 3mm more clearance. Does this sound right?

Just going by the general info from http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp
35x12.50R20 = Section Width: 12.51 in 318 mm
325/50R22 = Section Width: 12.79 in 325 mm
I think the best bet is to put on my wheels and see how much room I have with the 305/45/22's. Then figure out how much wider the 325/50/22's are.
Might do it tomorrow.
