I think I'd like some tires that will fill in my wheel wells more...

My summer rims: ATX Predators
Size: 17 x 8.5
Offset: 15
Back Spacing: 5.34

2009 F150 XLT 4x4. I don't have a lift.

What's the largest I can do without the tires rubbing?

What's the largest I can do with minimal rubbing?

I'd also like them to look rugged, but without the road noise that normally comes with rugged tires.

Not asking for much am I?

Thanks for any help you can provide. :beers:

MMM.. 265/70/17...... I would say 285/70/17, but I am not 100% sure

Toyo has 17 inch tires that are 34.1 inches tall and with a leveling kit they do not rub and no trimming was required...

34x11.50 R17s, 34.1 inches tall and 11.6 inches wide...

I'd go with a 285/70-17 or 305/65-17.

I don't know if this helps, but I am currently running 265/70r17s on my 2wd with no rubbing problems. Your 4x4 should sit about 2 inches higher, so you should be able to clear significantly larger tires.

I'd guess a 295x70x17. 33.5x12 Nitto makes these and so does Toyo. These may be close at stock height.

What's the max I could do with a 1.5" AS front level kit?

With the rims you mentioned, I'd stick with a 305/65-17 (33x12.50) or a 295/70-17 (34x12.00) tire.

this is what i would say you could do with a 1.5 level. (with slight rubbing)

I may put my wheels/tires up for sale in a few weeks when I switch back to my 20's.

Here is a shot of my truck on the 17's and some 315/70/R17 Mickey Thompson MTZ's on them.

minumum 4" lift. 6 inch will definetly clear 35 and aftermarket rims. i'ld go with the 4".

or level and body lift would work.

BrainDonor Mar 17, 2010 10:59 PM

drat! :(

can't go that high because of my garage.

DeereGeff Mar 17, 2010 11:07 PM

I'm not sure what it would take as I already had the lift on my truck when I installed them.

According to Mickey Thompson's website, the 315/70R17's are 11.9" x 34.6"

http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/t...=BajaMTZRadial

The wheels are 17x9 with a -12 offset

true, 4" and 35's will not fit in most garages. they should make them bigger for people like us!
