285-75-18 toyo mt

Dont want to beat a dead horse but am getting ready to pull the plug on 285-75-18 toyo mt on stock lariat rims. 2005 xlt 4x4 screw with 2 inch level. It is a lot of money and want to get it right. Does anyone know of any rubbing issues or regearing problems with 35's. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

From everything I have heard, the only rubbing issues are presented with the steering wheel in full lock. When I was looking at 35's the other day a guy told me I could trim half of the wheel well out starting from the middle, going twords the engine. Then again, the tires you are looking at are more narrow than the 35x12.50's. Besides that, the only other thing I would be worried about is the upper control arm getting rubbed.
Now take all of this with a grain of salt. I have never had 35's or physically seen them on our trucks so I don't know first hand. But, these are things I heard and was worried about when I was considering 35's. They will really look good though. Hopefully someone here that knows first hand will ease your mind.

285/75-18's shouldn't rub at all using the OEM wheels. Whether or not you need to reagear will depend on the rest of your powertrain and how you use your truck.
