Angry My tires are too big

I'm sure this has been talked about a hundred times, but I recently put 325/60R20 hankook's on my 04 F150 4x4. The tire rubs on my upper control arm, lower control arm and a part of my frame. I have the 3 inch spacer in the front also. My wheels are 35mm offset, 6.16" backspacing and they are a 20x8.5 Does anyone know of a wheel size that will work to prevent the rubbing????

Well, the problem is if you go to a wider wheel or one with less backspacing, you will eliminate the rubbing on the control arms and frame and create rubbing on the fenders. So really the only option is to install a lift kit that will allow you to install a wider wheel with less backspacing.

Sorry for the dumb questions first truck I've lifted. So with the offset wheel when I hit large bumps your saying that my tires will hit the inner fender liners or actually hit the outters fenders??

If you go with a wider wheel with less backspacing, it will make the tire/wheel "stick out" and it will rub the fenders and valance when you turn the steering wheel.

Can you go back to where you got the tires and just have them pro rate them for another size?

lol... nice "mistake"... i hear ya... good way to convince the wife

nah, but Im sorry to hear you have problems with them man... but like its been posted above, a lift kit looks like your best option with some different wheel specs. I would recommend a suspension lift too... just my .02. But that's probly your best option. And if you've been thinking of lifting it, just go for the 6", cause if you go 4, you're gonna want to go bigger... at least with most 6"s you can crank them up more if you want

Since you have brand new 325s, I would recommend a 3" body lift. They are ALOT cheaper than a suspension lift. If you get a suspension (especially a 6") lift you will want bigger tires to make it look "right". A suspension lift will run ya around $1,600 and up, and a Body Lift would run ya $200 or so (not installed). And in the future if you want to go bigger; you can add a suspension lift to your truck and have a big monster.

Wink

Talked too my buddy who lifts trucks for a living in Cali. Gonna go with the 6" lift from fabtech and 4 new wheels. Thought about just the body lift but my buddy said it makes the truck feel to unstable. Besides you said I'm always gonna look at and wish I lifted it more. Than in another year 6" won't be enough anymore, but I'll cross that bridge when it comes.
