Offset? Backspace? Help

I am looking to install a set of rims on my 2005 F 150 FX4. I have 285/65-R18 Nitto Trail Grapplers waiting to go on new wheels. Anybody have any info on how far the custom wheels will stick out past the fender line? I live in PA and the cops frown on too much tire exposed. I was looking into getting KMC XD series, Moto Metals, or Ballistics for my truck. I like the black machined styles. Please help. Thanks

How far the wheel/tire will stick out depends on which wheel you get. If you want to stay close to stock, go with a wheel with 5"-6" of backspacing.

Pic out a few rims you like and post the specs here. We can tell you whether or not they'll work.

Stock wheels are 7 1/2 inches wide with 5 1/2 inches of BS. Try to get wheels as close to this as possible to keep the tire and wheel assy inside the wheelwells.

And if you post the width and backspacing of each wheel, we can tell you how much farther they will stick out compared to your OEM wheels.

Any of them should work with your 285/65/18 tires.

The Spys and MotoMetals will stick out the most, followed by the Rockstars and the Jesters should be pretty close to stock.

Thanks man, they're made by Ultra Wheel. They're the Titan 6 in black wrapped with a BFG TA KO 285/65/20.

NCSU, even though you say the Rockstars and Jesters would be pretty close to stock, they will stick out a bit correct?

OK, I came to a decision. I will buy the XD SPY in black size 18x8.5 with +18mm Tires are Nitto trail Grapplers 285/ 65 - 18. This set up should be pretty good and not stick out that much.
