Terra Grapplers Hydroplaning???!!

Ok... Is it just me or do these tires have a history of hydroplaning? I just changed over to these in a 290/70/17 from the stock 255's and first real rain i'm in these things are all over the place!! Maybe its just me or has anyone else had this issue.

Question 2:
What is the best Agreesive AT or MT for on road rain?

Slow down ...

All tires will hydroplane. And you did not help by altering yer contact patch the way you did by going wider.

And if that is on a stock rim width, I would suspect sidewall instability issues on top of all of that.

WTF did you think was going to happen???

No... tires are on a 17x9 Wheel.. I expected with a wider tire it would hold more water under the tread but this was crazy.. seemed like i was skating every puddle I hit. Was only running about 50ish.. Would hate to think I was on the interstate at 60+

Full on hydroplaning is between 50 and 55mph depending on tires, the puddle and a couple of other factors. Going with a wider tire will deffinately make it easier to hydroplane on. I would imagine there are many other factors including the weight of the vehicle, tread pattern, road surface and how much standing water you hit but I've hydroplaned a short stretch on 235s with all seasons not doing more than 40mph.
