does rim siize affect ride?
does rim siize affect ride?
I have stock 17" rims and going to be putting on a levelling kit. I will be going from 265/70/17s to probably 285/70/17s or just a bit larger. I see a lot about 20" rims around here and was wondering if its just a looks things? It seems that a larger rim would be stiffer than a smaller rims? Hope my question makes sense.........
Thanks

There are certainly a ton of trucks on this site with 20" wheels so I assume it can't be all that bad. Heck, the newer trucks come stock with 20's. I bet it's more about the tire then the wheel.
It's not exactly the size of the rim, it is less sidewall on the tire to act as a shock absorber, and you usually have shorter sidewalls as the rim gets bigger.

Exactly, plus the fact that you have a lot more unsprung weight with a larger rim and tire combo and that plays a factor as well. That does not mean the ride is extremely bad it is just not as cushy.
