Brake fluid reservoir draining...

So I'm bleeding my brakes right now and I'm using a turkey baster to removed the old fluid from the reservoir and I'm going to put new fluid in, but there seems to be a protective cap on the inside that makes it so I can only suck up about half of the old fluid...

How do you guys get around this cap to drain the other half of the reservoir?

You don't. Bleed it out through the lines what you can't get with the baster. By the time you fill the reservoir with fresh fluid and deplete it a couple times, all that fluid will be gone.

about the only thing you could do is attach a flexible tube to the baster so that you can feed it down in and suck the rest out. Just be sure to securely attach to tube so you don't lose it.

or, like Galaxy says, just pump the fluid out through the calipers.
