What is 'normal' with ABS braking?
Hi all,
I've done a few searches but haven't found the answer, so I'll pose it here:
What is the normal pedal feel/sound when the ABS kicks in? I just got a 2007 F150, with about 32,000 miles on it. Today in the snow, I'm sure the ABS was kicking in, but the pedal had a lot of pulsing/vibrating to it, accompanied with a weird clickty-click sound (like a miniature jackhammer tapping away).
Is that Normal for this truck's ABS to respond like that?
I also have a '95 Mustang with ABS and a '03 Dodge with ABS, and neither have such pronounced vibration in the pedal under ABS and don't have that tappity-tap jackhammer tapping.
The brakes are fine under dry conditions, without vibrations, so there's no reason for me to think the rotors or pads are the problem.
