Changing rotors

I'm changing my rotors front right on 01 2wd.

Any suggestions, tips, tricks, whatever?

Is it pretty much straight forward ?

Take off the wheel, caliper/brakes, rotor .. and reverse install?

I know sometimes people miss things like don't forget you need a this or that etc...

Make sure you gress the caliper bolts that attach to the spindle, use the anti nosie gress on the back of the pads, use a brake parts cleaner on the dust shield and the surface of the rotor and dont touch the rotor after puting it back on, Oh yeah Ive found it helps to take your ress cap off so when you compress the piston your brake fluid doesn't over flow and build psi. I like to take one of the old pads and flip it on it's face to press the piston back in. You should also clean your 2 front ABS sensors.

Thanks for the reply.

Where are the ABS sensors?

Also I hear some rotors come with bearings while others don't. Do I need to replace the bearings - or would it just be a smart thing ?

Are there any techniques - sort of like when changing an oil filter you should put some oil around the filters seal - Anything like that with rotors?

Thanks for the info - from what I can gather - it's pretty straight forward.

Im not to sure where the sensors are as i have yet to do the brakes on my ride but I know we have them and there on both sides. If your re packing the hub bearings you want to use a good high temp gress "hub/bearing gress" they sell it at most auto parts stores. Sorry i couldnt be of more help with the sensor location I do remeber a friend telling me he had to remove the dust shields to get at them if that helps. When you put the hub nut back on after packing it real good with the gress make sure you dont wrench it down to hard. Its only like 20 to 25 Ft lbs needed and make sure you spin the hub as you tighting and backing it off at the same time kinda of hard to explain Sorry

make sure you re pack the bearings when putting the new rotors back on. also, keep the nut behind the cotter pin loose to prevent the bearings from heating up.
