replacing brake fluid- "gravity method"

This may come across as a silly question, but do you HAVE to pressure-bleed brakes to change the fluid?
Or; Can you attach a short length of tubing to the bleeder, to drain into a can, open the bleeder, then open the master cyl. and just refill as gravity drains it.
Then just close the bleeder when you see the new clean fluid coming out?
Then move on to the next wheel.

Would this method work?

All input is appreciated

From all my experience, and that ain't much, it takes 2 people to do a brake line bleed. One to open bleeder and 1 to apply brake slowly and firmly while the bleeder is open. Also make dam sure the reservoir stays full, u get air in those lines and oh boy.

its theoretically possible, but would take quite a while.

you'd be better off buying one of the low-price vacuum bleeders that lets you suck the fluid at the caliper.

Also - before you start, use a turkey baster to remove the fluid from the reservoir and put new in... it will save you time.
