Abs light
Abs light
i have a 2000 f-150 4x4 my problem is my abs light stays on all the time ,with truck turned off if i pump the brakes a few times and hold on the brake and start it ,its not on , but as soon as i let up on the brake its right back on again , can anyone give me any idea please?
I have the same problem on my 2000 2wd. From what I have researched this is pretty common on these trucks.
The problem could either be that the actual ABS unit under the hood is faulty, in which case don't even bother trying to replace it.. they go for around $600 bucks...
Or the much cheaper fix is that one of the ABS sensors under the truck is faulty. Now, I'm pretty sure in 1999 4 wheel ABS became standard. So you should have a sensor on each front wheel, behind the brake rotor shield, and another directly on the top of the rear differential.
Those sensors are around 25 bucks a piece, and are pretty easy to replace so if they're your problem then easy fix. If its the ABS unit like in mine, then your SOL. lol
