New Wheels Help

I'm thinking about getting some new rims, and I am trying to learn as I research, but can someone tell me exactly what Backspacing is and how it should effect my decision? I have a 2006 Lariat with 20" Rims currently. I know I need the 6/135 Bolt Pattern and I know I will probably need 275/55/R20 or 275/60/R20 (33") wheels but some of this wheel terminology os confusing me.

Thanks,
Steve

Backspacing is a measurement. It's the distance from the mounting surface of the wheel (where it bolts to the hub) to it's rear edge. Your OEM wheels are 20x8.5 with 6.5 inches of backspacing. You can use that as a reference.
