Brake job
Brake job
hey guys....was wanting ya'lls opinions on brand of brake rotors and pads. I have Advance Auto parts, NAPA, and Autozone where I live. I normally shop at Advance Auto and they carry Wearever and Wagner. Is Wagner better than Wearever? IS there anywhere (online) that I could get performance brake parts like maybe Powerslot or I'm open to suggestions. I need to do a brake job my my 03 SCREW FX4. I'd like to have better stopping power if its not too much more...but I don't have 3-4 BILLS for a BAER system or anything like that. The previous owner was going to do a brake job the following day that I bought the truck. He had already bought the rear pads and gave them to me; he hadn't bought the fronts yet. They were WAGNER pads. I'm all ears guys----DirtySCREW
Wagner thermo quiets are usually the popular favorite. Low dust good reviews and life. Welcome to the site.
Here is a link for a rebate to ease the pain.

gr8hntr----thanks for the link. I'll check into it but most likely will go with the Wagners since the have a rebate to help with the wallet. Times are a little tight right now.

Where can I get Synthetic brake fluid? I thought Royal Purple had some but their website does not show any. I'd rather spend a little now to save a lot later--DirtySCREW
mixing a different type of fluid in is dangerous. Best to stick with a DOT 3 or DOT 4 Glycol brake fluid. (stock is DOT 3 glycol fluid).
Not sure what you mean by synthetic fliud. The government uses a Silicon DOT 5 brake fluid and I know for sure that it does not mix with DOT3... mixing them will trash your master cylinder seals.
So, be careful and do a lot of research before you put something else in the master cylinder.
