depends on the wheel

specs close to stock = minimal to no rubbing

wide wheel with less backspacing = alot of rubbing

I've got 35" ProComp Xtreme MT's w/ 17x9 ProComp wheels w/ 4.75" backspacing on just a 2" leveling kit and rub almost never. Only while turning on a sharp incline or decline will it slightly rub. I did a tiny bit of trimming at the back of the wheel arch, but that was it.

I think there would be serious rubbing with those wheels. I'd go down to a 33 inch tire or find an 8 inch wide wheel with 5.5 inches of backspacing.

Question

I am new to the website, and I'm wanting to do the same thing...35's on 2.5" leveling kit and 1" blocks out back. I've not figured out how to search on this website, but I saw a truck with the exact setup that I wanted a while ago. It was a white Crew cab (maybe 06) and it look like he had about stock backspacing and 35's. Anyone know who I'm talking about?

I have an 8" wide wheels with 5.5" of backspacing and did a little trimming that you probably would never notice and only rub in full steer lock in reverse to the left. Isnt bad at all, and I love the 35's.

Running 35's on a 8" wheel with 5 1/2 inches of BS will reduce tire rubbing drastically on a leveled only 4x4.

My truck is a 2005 4x4 with the AS 2.5" level kit and 1.5" aal. The rims are 20"x9" with 5.9" backspace. Tires are BFG 285/65/20 which are just shy of 35" tall but only 11" wide which is why they do not rub at all. I've added an 1.5" wheel spacer to beef up the stance and they do not rub on flat surface but if backing out of a sloped driveway and cranking to the left they touch just a smidge.

so they wont rub when tured real sharp, even if u have a 4.5" back space or do u have to have the 5.9

If you go with a 12.5" wide tire on a 8 or 9 inch wide rim, I would stay with a rim that has close to 5" of backspace or more.
