Gearing for 33" tires...

So I am looking to get 33" tires for my 02. However, according to the window sticker from my truck, it says it came with 3.31 gears from the factory. I am worried about getting the 33s because of this. How will this affect how the truck drives and how bad wil it hurt acceleration and mpg's? How much would it cost to swap the gears to 3.73s (or 4.10s if they arent overkill, i want max mpg's and driveablility), and what all is involved? Recommendations?

Which engine and transmission do you have? The larger the engine, the less drivability will be affected.

I'd go with 4.10s with 33s, that should give you a huge improvement over your 3.31 gears now.

ic, how will the 4.10s do on the highway. i usually sit at about 70 to 80 on the highway. i drive to and from work and class, and back and forth from school about 300 miles a few times a semester... what rpms will i be turning with the 4.10s and 33s? curently at about 1900rpm at 70 mph... I have a K&N FIPK, Superchips 1715 tuner, and a dumped exhaust after the cats.

How much will changing to 4.10s cost me? (what's typical $ for parts/labor?) do i need to do the front diff. as well?

I think some have said it was around $1000 parts and labor for gears. Dumped after cats?!

more like right in front of the muffler i cut it, put a dump tube on it, sounds good, at least until i have some cash to put into an exhaust

I was priced about 1500 for gears and install. There is a gear calculated on 4wheelparts.com
