Hey guys,

Currently running 35' Cooper STT's on my 05 F150 FX4. Has the leveling kit on it to.

I wanted to use them for what there made for but got accepted to West Virginia University and had them put on in 07 now they are done. It was to long of a trip from delaware to WVU. The highway just ripped them apart

My issue is I want the size, the aggressive look, but I need a road tire because of the trip.

I need something thats going to last on the road but looks aggressive. Occasional off-roading here and there.

Anyone ?

 

I'd go with a quality all terrian tire like the BFG AT KO, Nitto Terra Grappler, Toyo AT, Pro Comp Xtreme AT, Mickey THompson ATZ or **** Cepek FC II.

 

I am glad I read your post. I do alot of highway miles and was about to buy some of the STT's or Toyo Open country. I didn't know the highway would chew them up. Is this common for a mud tread?

 

Mud tires are primarily designed for off road use and not for a lot of highway driving. They can be real hairy to drive with in real wet conditions and usually the tread life is not too great. They do excel in muddy conditions and in the look's dept. Like Wandell said a quality AT tire is the way to go for lot's of highway miles and better handling.

 

I confess, I wanted them more for looks but I guess I will switch to BFG AT's or Terra Grapplers.

 

Also remember the wider the tire is the more resistance which gives a lower mpg on long trips...
