99 Rear Rotors

Do I need to unhook the emergency brake cable to change the rear rotors on my 99' 4x4 ? I was changing the pads and just tried to take it off and tap it a little and it wouldnt budge. Has anyone ever changed theres?

No to remove the rotors you should not have to remove the cable. However, just like on a set of drum brakes, you will have to back off the e-brakes since a ridge of rust is probably holding them on, along with other rust at the hub.

These rotors tend to hold on pretty tight. I have had to cut them off before!

They rusted on to the hubs so badly that they couldn't be beaten off with a small sledge hammer. Were the originals per the first owner and the backs had about 140K Miles on them.
