Just Ordered: 18" Centerline Wheels

As indecisive as I am, and not knowing if I wanted to keep my 17s or step up to 20s I did what any good man would do:

I ordered a set of forged Centerline Patriot 18x9" rims for $99/ea

I don't mind the style, and I sure as heck don't mind the rotary-forged, made in the USA construction at a cast, made who-knows-where price!

(Note: This is a stock photo, my rims are not 8-lug, but rather they are 6x135mm and 18x9" with 4.5" back spacing)

I wasn't going to pass the deal up, so I bought 5 and figure that way I have a matching spare.

Those look good. I check their site periodically as they have good deals on their clearance stuff. I almost pulled the trigger on some 18s they had for $75 a piece, can't remember the name though. Anyway, great find. Now post some pics when you get them on!

Centerlines

So did you buy those centerlines direct from the website you provided or from a different place? That's a great price, congrats!

Directly from Centerline, although I called and spoke to a salesman to make sure the price was correct and that they were not blemished or otherwise unwanted wheels.

They actually have a few models and sizes that are discounted, although these seemed to be the best of the deals. Their site said they only have one set at that price, but I doubt that's true, because it still says that after I bought a set.

My rims got here today, but I was confused...

As you know, I ordered a set of Centerline Patriot rims directly from Centerline. When I received my rims however, I recieved them in a Pro Comp Xtreme Forged Wheels box. Suspicious of this, I opened the box to find the rims that I ordered *sigh of relief* and a Pro Comp Xtreme Forged Wheels center cap. I inspected the rims closely, but did not find any markings on them to indicate their true maker. Looking closely at the rim, it is absolutely without a doubt rotary forged and fairly light for a rim of this size (approximately 23 pounds). To be certain, I called Centerline and learned that they manufacture Pro Comp's forged rims (as well as a few other company's rims)... so are they Center-Comps? Perhaps they are to be called Pro-Lines? Either way, they look absolutely gorgeous and are the cleanest, most nicely finished rim I have ever seen!

As soon as my dinner guest leave I'll snap some pictures and post them for your viewing pleasure.

Wheel Choice...

Striking... Should look good no matter what the color of the truck...

I can't wait to mount some tires and get them bolted up!

The truck is a very neutral silver color, it is impossible to find a color that doesn't match the truck well. My overall appearance goal for the truck is as follows:

1). Get rid of all chrome, including the headlights (already done) and bumpers. I will have to find PTM bumpers for the truck and get them painted silver.

2). Use the polished rims in conjunction with my exhaust tips and acid-etched F150 badges to give the truck all the shiny parts it needs.

3). Clean and detail the under carriage, as well as apply a nice coat of black to give it that final touch.

As soon as I make up my fickle mind about what tires I want, settle on a specific size (leaning towards 37's again), modify the suspension as needed to accommodate the tire size and finally get around to finding the best price.

Sometime in the next month, tires will be mounted and the wheels installed on the truck.
