I have a 1992 XLT. What are my options for stowing the spare tire? The guy I bought it off of just had in laying in the box all the time, but now I've got a camper loaded on. There doesn't appear to be anywhere available underneath, possibly due to the 2 gas tanks. I wonder where it was when the truck was new and bought off the dealer. Not very keen on bungying it onto the camper roof. So does that leave mounting it on front? Saw a bracket for that but it screwed into the license plate holes can that be right?
Anyways, if anyone has an idea for under carriage mounting would appreciate it.

 

Well I have an ole 92 also that I just use for the hunting roads and stuff during winter. I have always just left mine in the bed chained to the toolbox underneath. Mainly because there isn't any better way to do it that I have found. Good luck I was no help.
