tires size w/2" shackle drop

I have a 2008, SCREW, 2WD and tomorrow I'm doing the Ground Force 2" shackle drop for the more leveled stance. If I'm content with my factory 17" wheels (for now), what's the largest tire I can put on there. I'm looking for a wider/taller street tire with a more agressive look.

Also, any pics with a similar setup is much appreciated.

thanks from drew in H-Town.

I ran 265/70/17s with the 2" shackle kit. You can run 285/70/17s.

Not sure if you're thinking about eventually going with plus-size rims or not, but I am currently running 305/40/22's on my truck with the 2" Gorundforce shackle drop and have no rubbing issues whatsoever. Here's a picture:

Yes, I feel a little more of the road, but not too harsh. One benefit is better handling, cornering, with the shorter side walls.

The ride is only slightly harsher, the big negative for me is the traction in rain. Not good at all, but I think it's the tire brand as much as anything. The Falkens are not even close to the Michilens I was running. Just one of the sacrifices I make for what I think looks good. I put the 17s back on in the winter. That way, I use them up and if there happens to be any ice, I don't worry about it.

I think that (or a 305/45-22) is the best looking combo on a 4x2 with lowering shackles. Great looking truck man!
