Brakes not disengaging

So ive been fighting this brake issue since the begining of the year. Ive had this issue where i would be driving on the highway and i feel the truck slow down and when i use the brakes the pedal is very stiff. When i pull over and jacked up the wheels all four corners are locked up. I have to then go and release pressure from the line and then the brakes work fine. This problem would happen ever so often then it became an everyday issue.

So i took it to a shop and they said the problem was in the adjuster at the end of the brake booster rod so they adjusted it and everything was fine. Three months and two trips later the problem comes back again so i take it back to the same shop. They spent a whole day trying to diagnose it and came to the conclusion it was the brake booster. They didnt seem to sure that it was the problem, more of a suggestion and wanted to charge me alot to change it so i bought the part myself and im going to swap it out this weekend.

I drove the truck to work today and the brakes seem fine but noticed that the truck seemed sluggish and the brake pedal was slightly on the stiffer side. When i got to work i checked the brakes and it seemed like just the rear brakes where slightly engaged. Ive tried messing with the brake booster and it seemed to be holding vacuum but im going to change it out to be sure its not the problem. Does anyone have any experience with a problem like this or any suggestions of what to inspect and look for? I would greatly appreciate it.

Carlos

turned out it was the adjuster on the brake booster behind the master cylinder again. its two nuts to take it off then behind it is a little set srew that pushes the piston on the master cylinder. adjust it in a bit and test it out.
