18 to 20 no leveling kit

I have searched and searched and have not found the answer to this. But I want to go to 20inch wheels from the current 18 inch. I do not have a leveling kit on and don't really want to add one.

Can someone give me tire sizes and wheel specs that would work without rubbing?

I appreciate the help. It has been difficult to find info on this because most if not all have leveling kits.

Thanks

A little on the truck would help.

A lot depends on the wheel you use. If you use the OEM 20's (20x8.5 with 6.5 inches of BS), or an aftermarket wheel with the same specs, and add a leveling kit, you can fit a 35x12.50 with minor rubbing on the control arms at full steering lock. If you don't want a leveling kit, I'd stick with a 33x12.50 (305/55-20).

So if I wanted to stay with a 275 55 20 (or whatever stock 20 size is) I should get a 20 x 8.5 or a 20 x9 or does it even make a difference.

I would like to have 305/55/20 but the cost between the two tire sizes is ridiculous and I was afraid they would rub. With the 305's is 6.5 of backspacing okay? What about offset?

A 275mm wide tire will fit on a 8.5 or 8 inch wide wheel. Also, the OEM 20's have 6.5 inches of bs so I doubt you have any rubbing with 305's. That may be a concern with a mud terrian with an aggressive sidewall patter but you should be fine with an AT. My wheels on my Expy (same fitment guidelines) have 6.7 inches of bs and I don't have any rubbing. Also, offset and BS are just two different ways of measuring the same thing.
I'm just afraid with the 275/55-20's you are gonna find they look to small and be disappointed.

Thanks Wandell. I am also afraid those will look too small. Going with 305s the cost increases substantially so I may hold off for a while and go buy a cheap tire to get me through this "mid tire crisis" LOL

you shouldn't have any problems with rubbing. even with a 305.

I have 20x9" wheels and 6.25" backspacing with 275/55/20 AT tires. No rubbing here.
