Painting Calipers?
Painting Calipers?
How hard is it to paint the calipers? It seems super easy and probably a very dumb question but i was just wondering how many people actually have done it. I'd imagine a high temp paint is needed but what kind of prep work?
hardest part is jacking up the truck and taking off the wheels
i bought the duplicolor caliper kit online for like $20, had everything you need to prep / paint them.
they give you some sort of cleaner spray and a wire brush if i remember correctly to prep.
i painted mine last year, and this pic is of a few weeks ago , they need to be re-painted, but they still look good

I painted mine when I first got the truck back in 05. Sprayed the calipers down with a can of brake cleaner and then used VHT Caliper paint that I got at AutoZone. I had about 5 or 6 coats on each caliper. They still looked excellent 4 years later prior to my caliper mod.
