wider is better. go for a 8.5'' wide wheel with 5.5'' of backspacing

i would stay with the 8". You might be able to run 315/70/17s. The closer you stay to stock the better. Check out my signature line. My 09 has 18x9 with 5" BS. The 06 had 17x8s with 5.5". That and the difference in tire width is why I believe I was unable to run 325/65/18s on the 09. Not a big difference (only 3/4"). Good Luck!

Your 305/70-17's are basically a 34x12.50 tire. I'm not sure on fitments on the 09's but they appear to be similar to the 04-08's or maybe even a tad more generous. I'd try to stay close to the OEM 5.5 inch backspacing and an 8 or 8.5 inch wide wheel with a tire that size. You should be able to make an educated guess by checking all of the closest points to rubbing on your truck.

thanks bro appreciate it. one question do your tires stick out of the fenders on the FX4...it was hard to tell with the pictures in your album

thanks

I think you would be better off with a wider rim and a more stock offset. Itll give you a more aggressive stance with a wider tire...Just my opinion, it just depends on what look you like. I like a 9 inch rim, it looks good lifted or not

Here is my 09. 20x9 -12mm offset 4.5" of BS on a 305-55-R20. There is about 2.5" of Poke and i had to do a bunch of trimming, even with a 2.5" leveling kit. Had to trim both the front and rear edges of the front fender plastics.

The side shot is deseaving. I have a pretty good slop on my driveway and the e brake is set. Truck sits much closer to level on flat ground. Still needs a 3" block of AAL though.
