Brake Dust-Need Better Pads- HELP!

I have a 2006 Lariat and I'm sick and tired of the Black Brake Dust. The OEM ford pads just produce to much dust. The truck has 27,000 miles and I'm going to spend the money on pads.I was reading about the Wagner Thermo Quiets in this Forum but they don't mention if they are the (MX1083 semi-metalic front pad) or (QC1083 ceramic front pad). My guess is the Ceramic Pad. Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful before I purchase a set. OH! What about the Monroe Brake Pads any good comments. Thanks inadvance.Ted

There are a lot of post on this. Use the "search" feature on this site. You'll find a lot of information. Basically though, 2 sets of pads are very popular here:

Carquest Blues Semi-Metallic and Wagner Thermo Quiets.

I went with Carquest Blues with Power Slot Cryo rotors. Great combo!

Wagner does make both ceramic and semi-metallic. Most of us go with the semi-metallic. I have had them for 73,000 miles now with almost zero dust. They work great and I will buy them again. Also, the above poster is correct. Do a search using key words Wagner ThermoQuiets and see what all you have to read. Or use the key words, brake dust.

I wondered the same question and was advised it is the semi metallic you want. I bought them from Rockauto, just waiting to put them on. Can't wait.

Wagner Thermos for me as well, search my name and look at all the posts I did on brake dust lol. Blue was always there to help me, when I installed the thermos I though to myself this is going to be a failure.

2 Months later I haven't cleaned the wheels not 1 time and they might need a rinse to get the road dust off, no brake dust wat so ever.
