Wheel Options

Hey guys, I am planning on doing wheels hopefully in a couple of months. (stock 17's now) I want to do 20s, so if I do, that would probably be next spring, but my dad said 18's would probably be better on my truck. He said if I did 20s I would lose some turning radius, ect. If that is the case, what wheels would you guys recommend in 18's. No black finished wheels or extremely offroady wheels, something like a street truck type, along the lines of the ones I have below. Any help appreciated.

20 inch wheels are fine on our trucks. the diff between 18, 20, is first the price of wheel and tire. second the tire sidewall size, with an 18 u can have more tire, and not raise the height of truck too much by having a real tall tire, either way it all is in what u look u want. i went from 18 to 20 i have no complaints. remember low profile tires takes away some ride comfort, for example 22 wheels have to have low pro tires, unless u lift the truck also a level kit on front end really helps with 20 i had 305-55-20 tires on here at first

The first two wheels you showed look like offroad style wheels to me. THe third is very nice. However, if you want a street truck look, I'd go with at least 22's.

Yeah the first two were offroad type, I just meant not like the off road ones that are extremely rugged looking. I like the last one best myself. If I went with that, would I lose any turning radius, and risk any issues, My truck is 2WD and stock height with no leveling kit ect.

No, wheel diameter will not have any affect on turning radius. The only way I can see a tire/wheel combo affecting turning radius is if it was so poorly fitting that is rubbed to badly to turn the steering wheel all the way.

So when you go up in size on the wheel, is the sidewall mostly what is reduced to accomadate the new wheel?

Usually. However some people go to a taller tire as well as a larger wheel.
