305/55/20 Tires

So I'm gonna need some new tires for the rims I just bought (MT Classic IIs, 20x10). Thinking its gonna come down to Nitto TG (AT)s, Toyo Open Country AT or BFG KM2s in a 305/55/20 E. Leaning towards the TGs because they are $100 cheaper a tire than the BFGs, but I really like the looks of the BFGs. Most of my driving is on road, so what tires would you recommend? Price is a big issue, but I'm willing to pay more if its the difference between getting 20K miles out of a set and 40K miles.

The all terrian Nittos and Toyos will be better on the highway than the MT's.

6 of one. 1/2 dozen of the other. Nitto is a division of Toyo. They are basically the same tire and are even made in the same factory.

Ah... they're about the same prices as the Nittos and Toyos. Any idea on how long they'd wear?

They're too new for anyone to tell for sure at this point. But they shouldn't wear any quicker than the others.

the nittos are a pretty good tire, I have about 29k on my 325 60R18's and they are 30% worn...I am impressed with the durability of them

The Nitto Terra Grapplers 305/55/R20xl are about $247.45 plus shipping
The Nitto Terra Grapplers 305/55/R20 10 ply are about $255.69 plus shipping
The Cooper LTZ 305/55/R20 10 ply are $254.62 plus shipping
Just some cost to way out all about the same price.

What are the Terra Grappler XLs? Any difference between them and the 10 ply (E) TGs?

i do believe the Toyos have a better and longer warranty. Plus toyo has a 30 day trial policy. If you do not like them, you have 30 days to return them or exchange them for free/ no charge.

Just throwing this out here but you might want to look at the 305/50/20 cooper ltz if price is an issue. They are about $100 per tire cheaper than the 305/55/20 and you are basically getting a 32" instead of a 33". Here is a pic of my 305/50's and I really like them so far.

Most of my friends with the nittos on diesels think they wear our a little quicker due to the softer tread compound.( refering to more weight of 3/4-1 ton vs. half ton trucks) I do not know how tough the toyo's are. I have around 34K on my nittos and they are wearing well. Hopefully they will be the last set of tires I have to put on it before I sell it.

So when are you going to be rolling on these new 20's?
