Black XD Monsters: Paint or Change Bolts?

Has anyone tried changing or painting the bolts on the outside edge of the Black XD Monsters? For those that have them, is it possible to remove the bolts or are they just for decoration?

I know a couple of people have painted the silver rivets on the Pro Comp 7005s, but I have not seen anyone who has tried with these wheels.

I am still waiting on my wheel/tire purchase, so I do not have them yet. Does it look like you can remove them on your wheels or are they just for looks?

If they do come out... You could get them powercoated? Then you won't have to worry about the paint chipping.

No bubbles being burst on my end... I wonder how hard it will be to match the paint?

Does anyone know the paint Zeruin used on his Pro Comps?

I'd contact KMC and ask if they are removable.

Don't know if they're removable or not. I've thought about painting them but decided against it. IDNC76 tried his just like Zeruin's but the paint didn't hold up well at all. It's just too small a surface area to prep properly. Definitely replace them if you do. I'm leaving mine, though. Gives the wheels a nice pop.

I actually put a socket on one of mine and turned it approx 1/2 of a turn and it felt like it was not threaded and that it was likely glued in. ?? it didn't further loosen so i stopped. I suspect it will come out if I pull and turn. i believe it may be plastic too - as it scratches very easy.

X2 , you have know idea how frustrating it was sanding / using touch up paint on all those lil rivets

they actually did hold up for quite awhile, but then winter came around and it was too cold to hand wash the truck. They were no match for an automated car wash , pretty much took the paint right off most of them.

if you never plan on going to a car wash place , id say you'd be ok lol , but id do it right and look into replacement bolts
