2000 f150 need advice on new tires/rims

hey guys ive had the same set of tires and rims for almost 2 years now and it is time for some upgrading!!!

currently on it are pep boys AT 285/75/16s with some baja polished american racing rims.

im looking to go big with my next set of tires and spend some money.

not exactly sure on what tire to buy but ive been looking at the open countrys, MTZs, or the nitto grappers MT. my fav is definetly the grapplers but i hear they wear FAST. is this all true?

out of the 3 which do you think would last the longesT? keep in mind my truck only has likea 3 inch torsion bar lift.

what size tires would i be able to max out with? 33x12.5 would beok right? what about 305/70s? they are supposed to be the same thing but my 285s are barely fitting without any trimming.

now for rims... this is the big one. rims make or break a truck IMO. i have the red version 2000 f150 lariat edition with that gold/brown strip down the side. i LOVE black rims but some people say they only look good on some trucks.

5x135 are the only rims that will fit correct? anyone know where i can get some quality spacers? there are less option rims with this hub size.

what size rims do you think would be too much? originally i was thinking 18s but if im going to be getting new rims i might go big with 20s. think this will be too much?

through ntwonline ive came upon a list of the following rims

mamba m2s
diamo 8 karats
torques
xd series Hoss black
rockstars black or chrome idk yet
or xd series badlands chrome
i also like the mazzi hulks alot but not sure if they have them for 5x135.

lemme know what you guys think would be the perfect combo

thanks for all the help! i know i asked a grip of questions

You can fit a 33x12.50 using a 10 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of backspacing, but you will have to trim the front bumper's lower plastic valance for clearance. Personally, I'd go with 16's or 18's using a 33 inch tire.
The Toyo MT's will last the longest. And yes, the Nitto Mud Grapplers wear fast.

I love my Toyo's!!! I have been very pleased with the ride and the wear of them, I would definitely recommend them

As far as rims.....STAY AWAY FROM KMC BADLANDS(chrome)...I'm on my 3rd set in less than 16 months The chrome pits/flakes. Thanks goodness 4 wheels parts has warranted them for me. I keep them cleaned, but they still end up pitting. They are made in china, so that may explain a lot about the quality of the chrome, but still no excuse when you spend that kind of $$$!!!!

4 wheel parts said they were being discontinued and that if it happend again they would give what I paid for them towards another set of wheels

That 1.25 inch wide adaptor is gonna push the wheel out an additional 1.25 inches and cause some major fitment issues. I'd try to fine a wheel you like in the 5x135mm bolt pattern.
