I'm about to get a set of 24's and I was wondering if anybody has had a problem with local shops (Tires Plus, etc) being about to align them? Also if the wheels are already balanced, can I just put them on or do I still need to get an alignment?

Yes you may have trouble finding a shop that will be able to align with the 24" wheels. Also balance and alignment have nothing to do with each other. Yes it would be best to get an alignment for no other reason than to ensure the new tires will wear properly.
If you can, get your truck aligned now with the OE rims. Then when you get the new rims and tires, it will not need one.
