Tire Needs

I have a standard 2004 F150 with 235/70/R17 tires. I want to go wider and taller for on and off road needs, not for crazy stuff but sometimes go into sand or dirt as part of business. Suggestions for a good size to go to???

My son-in-law has an FX4 and has 275/55/20. These look more like what I am after, maybe a little larger and wider.

Thanks

Do you have a 4wd or 2wd? Are you planning on leveling the front?

2457017 OR 2557017 Will give you a little more size and probably cheaper then 2357017's. Less available in the 2557017. 2457017 there are lots of options in at's and some mt's

What is involved in adding lifts?

It is kind of confusing because there is about 12" from the top of the exisiting tires to the wheel wells, even though this is a simple 2WD vehicle. It looks like you could add tires that are HUGE, so why add lifts?

My truck is 2wd and I lifted the front 2" to level the truck out vs. dropping the rear. By doing this you can also go with a larger diameter tire. If you don't want to go this route, a 265/70/17 or slightly larger should look nice.
