SCrew FX4 2WD w/ 2" level - Wheels+tires?

Hello,
New here. I have a 2002 SuperCrew FX4 2WD w/ a 2" frontend Leveling Kit.
I'm wondering what how wide of rims/tires I can fit on it without worries of rubbing. I believe I read that 265/75/16's will fit no problem on stock rims/lift - but what about with my level and with aftermarket rims - preferably wider(for that wide stance look XD).

Thanks.

if its a fx4 its not 2wd. but your mention of a leveling kit makes me think it is a 2wd. on my old 97 i fit 265/75/16s on 16*8 aftermarket wheels no problem with a 2" coil spacer. if i had used stock wheels i coulda fit 285/75/16s

Def is an FX4 - has all the decals and rims. FX4 was just an offroad package w/ plastic skid plate, stiffer rear end.... I believe anyway. Mine has all the little things.. just not 4x4.

Does the 285/*/* read as the wall height of the tire, or width of the tire?
If it is the Height, how does a wider tire affect height? Level of contact rise where the contact with trimming is?

In short though - I would like to get as wide and as tall as tires I can get on without worries about lifting it any further or rubbing issues. I want that whole offset look where the tire sticks out the wheel wells from behind view. I may go with a larger rim and shorter wall aswell - can't do much offroading in a 2WD anyhoot.

EDIT: Kinda the ways yours looks madmax. Just like that cept a little more rim.

285 (width) /65 ( height) /18 (rim size)

From my understanding it's not an FX4 if it's not 4x4; realizing that is what the "4" stands for in FX4.
Did you buy it used? Either way somebody may not have been too honest with you if they were selling it as one but I don't think a dealership could get away with pulling something like that.

fx4 was a 4x4 package only. it included a limited slip rear, rancho shocks, more skid plates, and different wheels. you cant/couldnt get a 2wd fx4 so like previously mentioned the previous owner probably bought all the fx4 stuff and put it on to make it look like one. there are places to run your vin and it will tell you what the truck should be.

as for the tire. with the stock fx4 wheel which is 7.5" wide i believe you can fit a 12" wide tire safely. so with your leveling kit the tallest tire you could fit would be a 33". that means your looking at 285/70/17. thats a 33x11.5x17 tire.

as for getting them to stick out mine stick out because i have a spindle lift which pushes the tires out about 2" and a small spacer for another 1/4" plus aftermarket wheels which push it out another 1/2" all from a stock wheel location. you can use a spacer to push them out but they have a reputation of being far from safe on the front and only acceptable on the rear. other than that youll need wider aftermarket wheels and a spindle lift to push them out

Anyone can buy a sicker on eBay that looks just like factory and slap it on. My buddy did it with his 2000 4wd F-150, just added the sicker.
