was this guy wrong or right??

i went to 4 wheel parts b my house and asked for a quote on a set of 35x12.5x18 procomp extreme ats. i have a 2.5 inch leveling kit and stock lariat rims. he said he would put them on but hes never seen it done before. i then told him im pretty sure ive seen a handfull of them on here, but then he was like hey ill put em on but theyre gonna rub like crazy. i just dont know what to think if anyone has pictures of these size tires on stock rims with my same setup please post em cause im gonna print one out and take it to the guy. but the rubbing is another question. how bad will it be and can it be cured with trimming. thanks

If you have a 4x4, they will fit. However, they are gonna rub the control arms slightly at full steering lock. There is really nothing you can do about this. Remember, you are attempting to mount a huge tire on a stock truck, so you have to expect some rubbing. If you don't think you can live with this minor rubbing, just go down to a 33 inch tire.

Here you go. This is my truck 2005 FX4, 2.5" leveling kit and stock 18 inch wheels on 35x12.5 Pro Comp extreme a/t's. There was minor rubbing at full lock but havent noticed it lately (not sure why), just adjust your driving style and dont turn as sharp. You will be fine.

I don't know how they are in the mud. I have only had them for a month and it's snowing here in Michigan. But they are decent in the snow.

you might want to consider a wider wheel, most tire shops wont mount a 12.5 on a stock wheel for safety reasons

Put em on there, I had my 35" xtreme at on my truck for 6 months with only a leveling kit. No need for wider wheels the tread wear was really good on the factory wheels on my truck. There is no safety issue with putting that tire on a factory wheel, if you pop that tire off the bead you have more problems than a just that. Also I did have rubbing on the control arm but it is very minor... you wont be sorry if you do this mod.

I ran Pro Comp Xtreme AT's on my truck for about 13k miles and loved those tires. Only reason I only had them for 13k miles is because someone else loved those tires to and stole them off my truck

After 13k miles (1 year) though they showed very little to no wear and I know would have lasted me for my 3 years out here in Hawaii. They are nice aggressive looking tire, yet very quiet on the roads. Get them and you won't regret it.

I have had my xtreme ats on for about a 1 1/2 years now and about 20k on them and i still have a whole lot of tread left.. Still have really deep tread. I would have to say these tires will probably get 50k. If you havent seen some in person they are really more aggressive than a normal a/t tire. They have really little road noise too, but I have been noticing the hum getting a little louder with the more wear they get. I think they are a great tire overall.
