Great looking truck, but you must love driving with those MT's in the snow!

A friend drives an 06 Durango with the stock "all seasons". Her brother has an 08 King Ranch with MT's. She had to pull him up and out of the driveway at their cottage last week They have a ton of snow up there, and she loved rubbing that into her bro's face.

Here is my 2007 FX4 with an AS 2". From what I have seen, the 2006-2008s sit level with a 2", while the 2004-2005s sit level with a 2.5".

I put a level on my running boards and it sits perfect, even though the front wheel well has more clearance than the rear.

thanks. your right MTs are definitely not the greatest choice for a snow tire. since that picture was taken i've put yokohama geolander at's on, much easier to get around.

So, how hard would it be to put a leveling kit on my 2008 Supercrew?
What is the best kit?
How long to put the kit on?
Any special tools required?
Can I do this as a one man job?
What are the benefits of this if I'm not installing larger tires?
Wil the truck ride or handle any different?

Sorry for all the questions, but these leveled rigs look great - especially Knighj1's rig!

Thanks,

Smoke

smokewagun, I used the NCD 2.5" on my '06 scab 4x4 XLT it took me and a buddy an hour and three mins. Just go to eBay and look for the NCD leveling kit. It will only cost you $89 and free shipping! You will keep your factory ride because it mounts on top of the strut and under the strut tower. I'll see if I can get some picks up. Go to http://www.ncdcustoms.com/ they have good pics. Good luck!

I had to trim a little piece of the front fender.

Thank you, 06hdfxst. If you have before pics and after pics along with the spacer installed, I'd appreciate it. I see at NCD's site they are $209. Ouch. I'll look on eBay as suggested. Was it a two man job, or can I do it myself? I am pretty mechanical. Did you have an alignment afterward? I suppose that's another $150, too.

A lot of people have gone with the AS kits and the seller has an excellent reputation. The 2" and 2.5" cost $69 on ebay with free shipping.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AUTO-...Q5fAccessories

It cost me $200 to get it installed and that included the front end alignment, which is required. The ride is the same and my 2007 FX4 sits perfectly level with a 2" kit.

If you do a search, there is a guy on here who has posted instructions and pictures of the install he did himself. He tells you the tools needed and things to watch out for when doing the work.

I just bought the AS 2" from ebay. The seller is top notch - fast shipping!

I am installing it this weekend so hopefully will have some PICs on Monday!

I put the AS 2.5 on my truck in about 2 1/2 hours by myself, aligned it the next day for around 50$, total about 120 for spacer and alignment, was going to cost over 200 for the shop to put them on, dont know if that was including alignment, I am definitely not the most mechanical person so i would recommend u put it on urself. save $$$
