Pirelli Scorpion ATR...

I love the look of these tires and after looking at all of the reviews on tirerack, it looked like I was set, but I searched and found that they get a flat spot overnight. Is it worth it?

I'm trying to replace my BFG Long Trails 235/70/16 which my dad swears by (even though everyone else hates them), with a 265/70/16. Any suggestions for an all terain or all season tire that will last around 40,000 miles?

Plus I just love the look of these Scorpion's.

Check out the Goodyear silent armor AT tires. I've had mine for 50k and They wear beautifully. Great traction and very quiet on the freeway.

There are tons of post here complaing about the Pirelli ATR's vibrating and flatspotting.
There are a lot better choices and just about any AT will last over 40K miles. I'd recommend the BFG AT KO, Nitto Terra Grappler, Toyo AT, Pro Comp Xtreme AT, Mickey Thompson ATZ or **** Cepek FC II.

I have the Scorpian's on my truck. I liked them untill it started snowing. They have 30K miles on them and they slide all over the place. On dry and wet surfaces they are great and no noise on the highway. I never hd a problem with flat spots.

Pirelli Scorpion ATR

I've got a set of 20's on my 06 FX4, and I am not pleased with them. Actually this is my second set. The first set the dealer relpaced @ 500 miles. Could not get them to quit vibrating. The second set still flat spots every night. So the first 3 or 4 miles every morning I go bumpty bump down the road. They eventually smooth out, but it is annoying until they do.

If I could find something else to purchase I would.

This is old, but I ended up going with Nitto Terra Grapplers in a 265/70/16. It changed the look of the truck and they're great. As far as tire wear idk yet, but eveything else is superb.

Thumbs down

i had them for a while too on my truck, maybe 500 miles. then it started snowing sliding around corners in 4x4 is no fun, the tires would be fine if you drive highway, no offroading, and it never gets cold where you live. it felt like i 4 flat tires for the first couple miles everyday in the beginning of winter. absolute joke by ford to put these on lariats/fx4's IMO.

I've had very good luck with the ATR's in California. I've not been in snow with them yet but have been off road and in rain with them. I did have flat spots only once when it was 35 degrees outside for about three miles but it went away.

They look nice, but not as aggressive as a terra grappler. Also alot more money.
