Biggest tires with stock suspension
Biggest tires with stock suspension
I have a 1998 F150 4X4 and want to put the biggest tires I can with stock suspension. Also I want tires that will work with my stock 17in rims for now. Any info would be appreciated.
The largest you can fit with your oem wheels is a 315/70-17 (35x12.50). However this is a very tight fit and they will rub the frame slightly at full steering lock. I wouldn't go that big unless you plan on lifting the truck in the near future. I'd go with something slightly smaller like a 285/70-17 (33x11.50), 295/70-17 (34x12.00), 305/65-17 (33x12.50) or a 305/70-17 (34x12.50) if you are gonna keep the truck at stock ride height.
Heres my new 285/70/17 bfg mt km2 i love them and have no rubbing its the biggest I would go since they fill the wheel well nicely and they look bigger then what they are mine measure 33.5 so they run big compared to the posted size
its a 97 with the 5.4

its a 97 with the 5.4

Thanks guys, Nick, I like the look of your truck with those tires, that is the size I think I will go with. Did you do anything to level your truck, or does it have the stock front rake? I can't tell from the pics.
