2006 SuperCrew 2WD Check Off List

Hi everyone! Been reading around the forum for a couple of weeks now and now I think I'm ready to as some thought out questions

As the title says I have a 2006 SuperCrew 2WD truck. Everything is currently completely stock. It like to make it look a little beefier with some larger tires. Truck currently has 255/65/R17 and balding I'm from California, San Diego to be exact so snow handling not really a concern

Also I am on a budget which will most likely go to tires (gonna use stock rims) From reading on the forum it looks like this is what I would need to do to fit larger tires on a budget:

1. Get a front leveling kit - looks like the best bet would be to get a 2 inch AS leveling kit from ebay. I dont like the way the truck dips in the front and this will cheaply allow me to fit larger tires. I dont plan on doing anything to the rear.

Question - Will the 2 inch level the truck or will the 2.5 inch be better?

2. Once the leveling kit is in place I should be able to get a 33 inch tall tire without much issue (or so I have found reading around the forum) to fit. I'm leaning towards AT tires since I'd like to get a lot more miles out of them. Also this is a 2WD, so i doubt it will ever go off road in an serious manner

Question - I'm thinking of going with a 285 / 70 / R17, Is this the best size to look for with my setup? I'd rather not have to cut anything. Would a 33 X 12.5 R17 also be an option?

That's it for now!

Thanks!

Right, you can go with 305/65-17's if you want.
