my tranny went at 34000 and the dealer told me it was my 285/20s and it was my fault. anyways i was told to take them off or it would do it again. any truck ive ever owned i have lifted or put on the biggest tires i could. and i just put a leveling kit in and i was going for 33s. am i wrong or is this guy a real ***? suggestions?

Sounds like an *** to me. I have had my 33" MT's, a 2" leveling kit with stock 3.55 gears for about 40,000 miles now. I don't baby the truck and my transmission is fine.

 

If its still under warranty, thats why he said it. Dont some trucks come with 275/20s anyway? So one size up wouldnt blow a tranny. He's full of ****.

 

What year is your truck and is that 34000 legit? If it is then I agree, he's a jealous ***. It will definately hurt the overall life, especially if you don't change your gear ratio but 34,000? That's insane.

Yep, he's full of crap. I'd suggest you demand to speak with the dealerships's GM. Calmly explain your situation and tell him that if it's not resolved you will take your business elsewhere, as will your family and friends.
