Brake Fluid Leak?

1999 Ford F150 4X4 5.4L Triton- I have a leak of some kind that started just a few days ago. It is running down the parking/emergency brake cable from where it comes through the driver's side rocker panel. I thought the parking brake was totally mechanical with no hydraulics. Does any one have any information on this situation?

Also, I have started to smell anitfreeze/engine coolant from inside the cab. I thought I might have a heater core leak, but the floor is not wet, no drips out side of the truck except for the brake leak on the driver's side. The fluid level in the coolant jug has not moved or changed. I checked all the hoses under the hood and can not find a leak. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on this problem?
Thanks

parking brake is mechanical... the leak must be coming from something else and dripping down onto the cable... trace it back to find the origin of the leak.

When my wife turned on the heat the other day, antifreeze started to pour out of the drain tube at the driver's rocker panel. I knew that I needed to check the heater core then. Spent all weekend, about 12 hours, took the dash out, replaced the core, and re-installed the dash. Truck is running great, heating great, and I saved us a bundle by doing the work myself. Thanks for everyones input.
