Proper backspacing help?
Proper backspacing help?
Skyjacker 3" lift / level kit
Bushwacker pocket flares (adding 2" to fender flares)
35"x12.5r17 rubber
WHAT RIMS?! Cant seem to get a proper answer from the tire shops to make this all "look" right.

I wouldn't go with Skyjacker kit, waste of money IMO and 3" is to much to level, puts your control arms at bad angles which will result in serious issues down the road. I'd go with either Bilstein adjustable shocks or the AS 2.5" coil spacer with an Add-a-Leaf. I have the 2.5" spacer and AAL, Im really happy with it. As far as wheels I have 17x8" with 5.25" backspacing, if you are going to level it and tuck 35's backspacing will be key to minimize rubbing and future problems. 35" Pro Comp All Terrains, pretty good tires I think. I have pictures of my set-up. check the link, best of luck to you...

yep, if you want 35's with just a leveling kit (which is same as i have) then you definitely gotta get wheels with the right backspacing. only thing is though is to get sothat it doesnt rub badly then you will not be needing the bushwackers, the wheels wont stick out much at all and the flares will look odd, ya know what i mean, the flares will be like 2" out past the tires.
just my $0.02 though man.

To run the 35's on a leveled truck you need stock wheels or 17x8's with 5 1/2 inches of backspace to give you the maximum clearance in the front to avoid rubbing. A 9" wheel with 4 1/2 or 5 inches of BS can cause problem's in the front, even with trimming.
Really?
I have never heard anything good about Procomp tires so i didnt even bother looking at their line up.
I thought the Bushwackers would be a good idea because then i could back space the rims correctly and the 2" of more fender would hide the "hang out". But this wont be needed then?
I didnt even think about the Skyjacker kit throwing the angles out in the driveline. I thought it was a good kit because it came with proper front struts and coils and DIDNT use spacers... But maybe i should go back to the spacer set up.
So 17x8 with 5 1/4 backspacing will fit a 35x12.5 tire? Huh ill have to check that out.
