Metric Tire Sizes

I am hoping Wandell will chime in here and give me some number. I have a 2006 FX4 with the factory 18 inch wheels. i have a 2inch leveling kit. Can you give me some tires sizes and the equivalents in metric and standard. I also wanted to ask what would be my most economical size. The more sizes you could give me conversions for the better. thanks for the help.

Try this little program from Cooney for doing tire size and gearing calculations. Great little toy.

so i am guessing by what that converter says is that a 275/70/18 is basically a 33x11 tire. Will this tire fit on my factory 18" wheels?

yep, that will fit. and that is correct math! You can fit up to a 285/65R18 on a stock suspension 4x4 on stock rims.

that is a bit too wide for stock rims. as a general rule of thumb you dont wanna go wider than a 315mm on stock rims (12.50'')

The largest you can fit using the oem wheels is 35x12.50. BFG makes the AT Ko in 305/65-18 that is basically a 34x12.50.
